Alison Doody
Alison Doody is an Irish actor and model. Her birth date was November 11, 1966. After making her film debut with a tiny part in Bond film A View to a Kill (1985) she was later cast to play Nazi-sympathising archaeologist Elsa Schneider, in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989). Other roles include Siobhan Donavan on the film A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) as well as Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody was approached by a photographer and began to model. Then she began her career as a commercial model. Doody did not shy away from glamour or naked work, a rule that she extended to her acting profession. When she was dragged into the sights to the director of casting for an upcoming James Bond film she accepted an unimportant role as Jenny Flex in 1985's A View to a Kill. Doody was selected as one of the twelve most promising young actors in 1986 by John Willis Screen World. 38. Doody was just 18 when she made her debut in the Bond part. To date Doody is considered to be the youngest Bond girl. A Prayer for the Dying which starred Mickey Rourke also had a role for Doody in the character of IRA Siobhan. Doody was unspoken in the film as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias when she appeared in his film of a dream, the 1987 adaptation of The Secret Garden. In the Jim Henson fantasy episode The Storyteller in 1988, Doody portrayed Sapsorrow along with John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. She also starred as Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. Her most recognizable part to date was that of Austrian Nazi sympathizer and archaeologist Doctor Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Doody played alongside Sean Connery in the film in the role of Indy's father. Doody played co-starring in 1991 with Jonathan Pryce opposite the British miniseries Selling Hitler, which was an inspiration for the book fraud called The Hitler Diaries. After moving to Hollywood, Doody became famous. The actress later became Flannery the agent of Charlie Sheen and partner in Major League II. She had been chosen as an alternative to Cybill Shepherd who was L'Oreal's first spokeswoman. After almost a decade away from the screen Doody came back to acting, with a small role in 2003 British comedy film The Actors with Michael Caine as her character in the award ceremony scene. In 2004, Doody appeared alongside Patrick Swayze alongside a TV version to King Solomon's Mines. Also, she appeared on Benjamin's Struggle (2005), a pamphlet describing the Holocaust. In 2010, Doody was a character of Danny Dyer's movie The Rapture (2010). Doody was a guest on RTE's Medical drama The Clinic. The project was eventually canceled. Pam Jefferson, the character that she played in the comedy series E4's Beaver Falls during its first season of two seasons. She starred in We Still Kill the Old Way, a 2014 film. In November of 2018 she was awarded the Almeria award for best film and received a Star on the Almeria Walk of Fame.
